Photoshop CS3 Beta due to Expire
Reports are indicating that the Adobe Photoshop CS3 public beta are due to expire in the coming days at the beginning of May, 2007. One report by Buko, on the Mac Photoshop User to User forum reports that the beta will expire on May 2nd. Other reports claim May 5th (which also happens to be Cinco de Mayo). In any event, rest assured that the beta will expire soon.
For those who still have the Beta installed, Adobe suggests (really emphatically) that you must remove the beta properly before installing the final release version.
On the Mac, the uninstaller is in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers. Note: You cannot uninstall by dragging CS3 applications to the trash; instead, you must use the uninstaller.
On Windows XP, uninstall via Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
On Windows Vista, in the Programs section of the Control Panel, select Uninstall a Program.

The Adobe CS3Clean Script will help resolve installation problems experienced by beta and pre-release users of Adobe Creative Suite software. The script will clean up the beta and pre-release installations and allow installation of the shipping versions of Creative Suite 3.
WARNING: Before running the CS3Clean Script, it is critical that you back up your hard drive including all data, content, software programs, etc. Failure to do so, and failure to follow the instructions below, could result in a loss of the contents of your hard drive.
Back-up all data prior to using the CS3Clean Script. This includes fonts, Version Cue repositories, plugins and any other important files.
Uninstall your beta or pre-release Creative Suite 3 prior to using the CS3Clean Script.
On Windows XP, uninstall via Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

From John Nack’s blog; One important note: If you’ve installed a beta build of Photoshop, Flash, Soundbooth, or other CS3 software, you must first uninstall the app(s) before installing the shipping versions:
On the Mac, the uninstaller is in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers. Note: You cannot uninstall by dragging CS3 applications to the trash; instead, you must use the uninstaller.
On Windows XP, uninstall via Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
On Windows Vista, in the Programs section of the Control Panel, select Uninstall a Program.
If you experience problems with the uninstall or the install, you may need to use the Adobe CS3 Clean Script which will be available within a few days.

John Nack on his Adobe Blog notes that as of last Friday over 500,000 people had downloaded the Photoshop CS3 Beta. He also notes that based upon the download size, that’s about 251,612,564 MB of “P-shop goodness” (his words…I wonder what Adobe legal thinks about the Photoshop Product Manager calling Photoshop “P-shop”? Ya suppose they have the trademark for P-shop too?).
Photoshop CS3 and the new Photoshop CS3 Extended will be officially revealed next week in New York City. Then we’ll get to find out all the lowdown on the new functionality in “P-shop Extended”…

Adobe Systems plans to launch Creative Suite 3 later this month, marking the largest software release in the company’s 25-year history.
Creative Suite 3, an overhaul of its publishing applications, is scheduled for introduction on March 27, the company confirmed in a blog posting on Monday. The software will begin shipping in the spring.
